President Muhammadu Buhari Moves To Pacify South East Over 'Lopsided Appointments'

Moves by President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress to compensate the South-East for not getting any appointments so far in the current administration had began, indications emerged on Saturday.

Some states in the geopolitical zone, CCCNA source gathered might get more than one ministerial slot. A top member of the party said the President was not unmindful of criticisms that greeted the alleged lopsided appointments. 

The source said, Buhari has given the assurance that all zones that have not been represented in the appointments he has made so far will be compensated.

Prominent Nigerians and socio-political groups, have criticised the appointments made by Buhari so far. Out of 31 appointments made so far, 24 of the appointees are from the North and seven are from the South. The South-East has no representation in the Buhari-led government. 

However, the Presidency and some APC sources justified the appointments made by Buhari on Thursday.

    That's absolute nonsense.....ministerial positions are not powerful position in d country except d position of d artoney general of d federation....so let Mr president gives the positions to his cherished n most competent friends in d north as usual
