Unknown to many, some of the most successful Nigerian footballers, like Mikel Obi, Osaze Odemwingie, Elderson Echiejile, and several others, are products of the Pepsi Football Academy which has been in existence since 1992.
In a bid to further develop talented young Nigerians between the ages of 6-18, the Academy in 2005, began the Pepsi Football Academy UK Scholarship program, which grants two students of the Academy a chance to study and train professionally in the UK.
The selection process which started on the 10th of June will reveal the two PFA Scholars today at Fun Turf, behind Kuto Stadium, in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Winners will get full scholarships to the Brooke House College in the UK for a period of 2 years.
Who knows, in a couple of years, these young men may be the ones leading the National team to glory just like Mikel Obi,Osaze, Echiejile, Sunday Mba and many others before them.
