Hotel Made Entirely from SALT - from the Walls to the Beds & Tables (PHOTOS)

Staying in a hotel made entirely of salt - from the walls to the beds - is definitely bound to leave you thirsty. Guys, check out the Palacio de Sal hotel which was built from one million blocks of salt over a two-year period and sits on the world's largest salt flat, the Salar de Uyuni.
Everything from the walls and floors to the beds and tables have been carved out of salt taken from the Salar de Uyuni salt flat. Even the quirky retreat's swimming pool, tables and chairs in the dining room and nine-hole golf course are made from sodium chloride.

Creator Don Juan Quesada dreamt up the idea of the world's first salt hotel as it was the most abundant building resource in the area. And the Palacio de Sal was first built in the mid 90s but had to be dismantled in 2002 before being rebuilt.

There are, however, strict rules for guests to the 30-room resort, such as 'don't lick the walls' as the hotel is somewhat fragile and has to be repaired after each rainy season sweeps in and dissolves parts of the construction. It sleeps up to 48 people across 21 twin rooms and nine double rooms with prices starting at a tasty £85 - N20,000 a night.

Chi-Chi's Corner: Reason why women cheat in their relationships

Here is another segment of Chi-Chi's Corner.... Why do Women Cheat? After last weeks corner, many have been asking that I write more...well here it is!

I was discussing with a friend about what to write about and this question came up..Read on!

Why women cheat differs from woman to woman. Some do it for love, some for sex, some need a boost in their self-esteem, some say "size factors", and some are just wired to be unfaithful.

I’m of the opinion that it doesn’t matter why women cheat. Once the cheating occurs I’m not one to go looking for excuses for bad behavior. I know from experience though that if one is cheated on, your first question will more than likely be, "why?!!!"

Here are a few reasons I have come with that may be a reason why women cheat. Keep in mind that the reason behind the cheating is not as important as the cheating itself. Don’t allow yourself to make excuses for bad behavior!

The Low Self-Esteem Woman:
Some women become nothing more than a mother, housekeeper, just girlfriend, and wife who keeps the family running smoothly and trying to drive her "relationship" to another level for the once whom are still dating. Maybe she is feeling frumpy and unattractive. Her self-esteem is in the gutter…she no longer feels sexy, beautiful or desirable. She is dating/married to a man who takes her and the relationship for granted.

Enter into the picture a man who compliments her, shows interest in her emotionally, tells her she is beautiful. A man who looks at her and sees something other than just being "the girlfriend", a mother, housekeeper and wife. A woman who is having issues with low self-esteem is a sitting duck for a man like this. She may find herself willing to throw caution to the wind in order to find the validation she needs and is not getting in the relationship.

The Emotionally Starved Woman:
I know a couple that are living together. They both work hard so they can have the big house, the expensive cars and the prestigious lifestyle they believe will make them happy when they settle down and man and wife. Only problem is, they are working so hard to accumulate things that they are neglecting their relationship with each other.

There is no romance in their relationship and any emotional attachments are to the “things” they’ve acquired over the years. The lady recently told me she was “lonely in her relationship.” What happens when a woman feels lonely and no emotional attachment to her man? She goes looking for emotional attachment elsewhere.

The Angry Woman:
There is no better way to get back at a man who has cheated than to cheat yourself. It is true that “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.” If you want to bring out the worst in your wife let her doubt your fidelity.

I know a woman who had been a devoted girlfriend. She had spent her time putting her relationship first. She caught her man with his young lover and was hell bent on getting revenge. She found someone a shoulder to cry on who eventually became what i call "the penis to ride on"

So, if you are out cheating on your woman do so knowing that she may end up playing “tit for tat.” Nothing is more surprising or harder to deal with than finding out your devoted girlfriend/wife has decided that what is “good for the goose, is good for the gander.”

The Woman Who Seeks Excitement:
You have heard of men who are serial cheaters…they cheat for the thrill of it. There are women who are thrill seekers also. They may love their partners, would never entertain the thought of leaving him but they need a little something extra.

It is my opinion that most “thrill seekers” miss the feeling that comes with feeling their partners can’t keep his hands off her. She wants to be wanted, to feel sexy, as if she turns her man on every time she walks in the room. When she loses that feeling, she goes looking for it outside else where.

The Sexually Deprived Woman: (exclusive for married couple)
If she isn’t getting enough sex with her man, don’t be surprised if she goes looking for it outside the marriage or relationship. As men age their testosterone levels drop. When this happens they become less interested in sex or develop sexual dysfunction and are unable to perform. (for the married) A wife ends up with a husband who would rather watch football or read a good book at bedtime than have sex with his wife. In marriage relationship comes with time and age...things starts dwindling.

He would rather do anything other than take the chance of trying and then not being able to perform. He withdraws from his wife instead of discussing his problem and coming up with a solution to the problem.

Then you have men who withhold sex as a form of punishment. Men who don’t communicate their dissatisfaction with something their wife has done but punish her by withdrawing from her sexually.

Whatever the reason is, ignoring the sexual needs of your wife sets you up to one day have to deal with the pain of her cheating. When a woman feels her husband no longer wants her sexually, she feels deprived and uncared for. Feelings that may spur her into going outside the marriage to find what she needs.

NOTE:
Regardless of the reasons women cheat there are no excuses for being unfaithful. I had an email recently from a reader; he stated, “While no one ever twists the arm of a cheater to offend, does it not seem plausible that a spouse who dismisses overt dissatisfaction share some responsibility in paving the way for these things to happen?”

My response was “no.” No one is ever responsible for cheating but the cheater. If a wife is having problems with self-esteem, or feeling sexually deprived she has options open to her other than cheating. First, there should be effort put toward solving the relationships problems. If that can’t be done there is divorce court and for those not married, break up. Anyone needing something they can’t find inside the relationship should wait until they are legally free or broken up with their current relationship before seeking it outside.

My cure opinion on cheating is "if you want to be a player, stay a player and don't get into a serious commitment with no one"

drop your thoughts, questions, and opinion on this... for those seeking counseling advice... I will be will to answer all your questions on the comment thread.

Open Heavens 2014: Saturday, May 31, Daily Devotion By Pastor E. A. Adeboye - IN VIEW?

Topic: IN VIEW? (Saturday, May 31, 2014)

Memorise:
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. Isaiah 49:16

Bible in a Year: Exodus 17-19; Psalm 116

Read: Isaiah 49:14-16

14 But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.
15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

Message:

One of the most depressing experiences of life is being forgotten by friends, relatives, family members, and those you really count on. Somehow you hope that you mean enough to people around that they won’t just forget and abandon you when you need them the most. This is so important to the average person that some have joined social clubs and endure inconveniencies to attend social functions and ceremonies as a means of building future credit with people in order to guarantee patronage whenever the need arises. The fear of being alone, forgotten, abandoned and separated from loved ones is so genuine and real that Jesus had to cry aloud with much agony when He suffered a similar fate on the cross of cavalry. The Bible in Matthew 27:46 says,

“And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”

Worst still, there are times when it seems as if the whole world is crashing on you; when life beats you down and gets the best of you, when friends and relatives are nowhere to be found. At such times, prayer begins to feel empty and God feels distant, almost as if He has forgotten you. It is very easy at this point to think that you have been deserted by God. If you ever find yourself in such a situation, be sure to stay closer to the word of God for constant reminders that God cares and that He is a present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1); He will never abandon you. I pray that whenever you call upon the Lord in times of trouble, He will answer in Jesus’ Name. No matter what you are going through, just hold on to Jesus and He will see you through.

God asked a rhetoric question in Isaiah 49:15a:

“Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb?”

We know that it is seemingly impossible for that to happen, but God says even if it were possible, He will never forget you. You can rest on His word of promise because our God is dependable. God went on to say that He has engraved you on the palms of His hands; what a promise, what a word! Engravings are permanent inscriptions, therefore it symbolises an obsessed lover writing the name of his loved one on his hands for constant remembrance.

Prayer Point:
Father, thank you for engraving me on the palm of your hand. Thank you for having me in constant remembrance.

Don’t laugh: What would you do if your child (re)designs your visa this way? (SEE PHOTO)

Getting a visa to visit a foreign country is a tasking process so obviously those visas are well protected when eventually gotten.

Unfortunately for the owner of this passport and visa however, children don’t really have a clue about how much goes into the process hence the painting of the visa in the picture.
What would you do if you were outside the country and your child designed your visa in this way?

Maku Has Declared Jonathan’s Office Vacant – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) declared yesterday that the comment credited to information minister Labaran Maku that the federal government was spending significantly on security in three of its controlled states was a categorical declaration of the office of the president vacant by the minister.

According to the party, Maku by that statement has proved that President Goodluck Jonathan is only the president, leader and chief executive officer (CEO) of PDP and not of Nigeria.

At the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) briefing on Wednesday, the minister had drawn the attention of Nigerians to the entire money federal government had been spending to maintain security in states controlled by the APC, just as he queried the opposition party for coming back to start playing politics with the security situation in the country.

Maku added that while 90 per cent of all insurgency was happening in states controlled by that party, 90 per cent of those campaigning to bring back Chibok girls were also members of that same party and who constitute over 90 per cent of those protesting against the federal government.

In a statement issued on Friday in Lagos by its national publicity, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the APC described Maku’s comment as “a tragic and insensitive statement from an honourable minister of the Federal Republic about children, some of whom are minors with neither political leaning”.

“The campaign to rescue the abducted girls has now been clearly polarized and politicized by the federal government. So sad, so unfortunate, so callous, so mean, so irresponsible, so brazen, so not parental, so not governmental,” it added.

The party regretted that this was coming from government at a time that foreign nationals who are not members of either PDP or APC were spending their time and resources campaigning for the rescue of these girls”. It cited the U.S. and UK where it said Republicans, Democrats as well as Liberal Democrats, Conservatives and Labour were “united in campaigning for the rescue of our daughters”.

APC wondered who was playing politics between it and the federal government, saying if anyone must play politics at all, it should be a political party and not government.

Noting that the most astounding information from the most credible source, the minister of information, regarding government and governance in Nigeria has finally emerged, APC said Maku’s utterances at the FEC briefing has confirmed what had been making the rounds in different ways, which is that “the ship of the Nigerian state continues to tether on auto-pilot without a captain in charge”.

“The vacancy exists, the head hunt has started; we the Nigerian people are the employers, we are the interviewers, and the appointment is ours to make. Our vote, our power, our voice is how we can do this. We will, we must.

“We need a president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. A president for our nation, a president who sees Nigerian citizens not as PDP or APC supporters, a president who sees children as Nigerians and Nigeria’s future, not PDP, or APC children, a president who is Nigerian, not against Nigeria; a president who comes from somewhere, but is for Nigeria, not for a locality or a party,” the party added.

Wondering how the federal government would resort to discrimination on how much it was “spending to secure the nation based on location, political control, and perception of political preference of citizens of Nigeria”, Mohammed also wondered whether the country’s constitution no longer makes it “a condition precedent that a presidential candidate must score at least one quarter of all votes cast in at least two-thirds of the states of the federation in addition securing the majority of all votes cast before he or she can be declared the winner”.

Accordingly, the APC publicity scribe declared, “So finally, truly and sadly, Nigerians now know that PDP has a president, but no one occupies the position of the office of the president, Federal Republic of Nigeria. Now we know that the PDP constitution is superior to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria at least in the estimation of the Federal Executive Council.”

On Maku’s claim that the federal government was merely a fire fighter in the war against Boko Haram, Mohammed said: “A government that characterizes itself as a fire fighter in matters of security is a failed government. Failure to defeat a failed government will only lead us to a failed state… Fire fighters are on standby until there is a fire.

“We don’t need a government on standby, we don’t need a government in idle mode; we need a government that prevents fires. The best-run societies earn their record of efficiency by showing how many years they operated without a fire, not how many fires they have put out. A self-labelled fire fighter should be put in his place — a watchtower on standby for IF a fire arises.

“Nigeria needs a government that prevents, not fights, fires. This PDP government is a failed government. The fire of corruption is engulfing the nation, insurgency is blazing hotter, terrorist flags are being hoisted on Nigerian soil, terrorists are mocking our security by repeat attacks in similar areas. They are attacking the symbols of our security — police stations and military barracks. The fire is raging, where is the self-styled fire fighter?” APC queried.

Still on the minister’s declaration that the federal government was spending significantly on security in “three APC-controlled states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa”, Mohammed said if this was so then “the rest of the world, and Nigerians perhaps, erroneously believed these were states of Nigeria, including officially recognized international borders between Nigeria and other countries.

“Now, we know that, to the president, as announced by his minister of information, they are APC states, not federating units of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Obviously, governance is according to the PDP constitution, not the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Nigerian Constitution does not recognize or demarcate, or discriminate between states on account of ethnicity, or political leaning, especially when it concerns the very important issue of security”.

More still, APC noted that what Maku probably meant was that the PDP’s constitution recognized only states where PDP governors preside over and President Jonathan is governing according to that constitution.

The statement made available to LEADERSHIP Friday yesterday evening continued: “As innocuous, and ill-conceived as this statement on behalf of FEC by Labaran Maku is, it is the most tragic, telling and fearful statement that has been, or can be, attributed to any central government in any democracy.

“All over the world, there are conflicts between separatists and central governments, and it is not uncommon to see neighbouring countries annexing portions of another country, but never has the world experienced a central government excising its own states especially on grounds of security or on grounds of political leaning.

“Imagine a U.S. President like Obama complaining about national spending on security in New York to protect the homeland after 9/11 under a Republican mayor, Rud Guliani? Or the year after year spending on border patrol and homeland protection to secure the U.S. border from drugs, guns and violent crimes in Texas or Arizona, lifelong and unwavering red (Republican) states? Nothing will be more impeachable!”

Mohammed further noted that, judging by Maku’s comment, the Federal Executive Council in essence sees Nigerians only as PDP supporters or APC supporters.

He said: “They don’t even see us as Nigerians, a nation, or a people! This again is inconsistent with the Constitution of the Federal Republic that identifies all citizens as Nigerians, and the rest of the world recognizes us as such.

“Or how else can one explain Maku’s unguarded outburst that a ‘majority of protesters accusing the government of not doing enough on security were APC members’? Again, we are talking about the security of the homeland, and a terrorism scourge that has killed, or has in captivity, Nigerians from the east, the west, the south and the north, Christians and Muslims.”

Open Heavens 2014: Friday May 30, Daily Devotion By Pastor E. A. Adeboye - POOR & PRECIOUS

Topic: POOR & PRECIOUS [Friday May 30, 2014]

Memorise:
But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God. Psalm 40:17

Bible in a Year: Exodus 15-16; Psalm 115

Read: Psalm 40:14-17

14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.
15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.
16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.
17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

Message:

Social stratification based on financial status is more pronounced than any other type of stratification in modern society. The wealthy and the poor coexist in all nations of the world today. The rich are associated with wealth, power and fame, while the poor are associated with suffering, obscurity and lack. The rich has many friends, associates and family members. He is an independent fellow who can afford to pay his or her bills and also contribute to the development of the community. The poor on the other hand has few or no friends or associates. He can hardly pay his bills not to talk of contributing to the development of the community. However, it is heart-warming to note that God is personally interested in the cause of the poor. I hereby decree that God will put an end to every form of poverty in your life today in the Name of Jesus.

Numerous passages of the Bible speak of God’s deep concern for the poor. In the Mosaic Law, God commanded that no one should oppress them. If they became servants to their fellow citizen out of poverty, God commanded that in the fiftieth year (Jubilee), the poor must be set free to return to his or her family without strings attached. Also, God gave many wonderful promises and pronounced blessings on the poor as a means of assuring them that poverty would not be a permanent status. In fact, a cursory look at a few of these passages will convince you that poverty has become a matter of choice for the children of God. All you need to do is to apply the word and its principles to your life. Such passages include the following:

“He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.”
Psalm 113:7-8

“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.”
2 Corinthians 8:9

These verses are a great source of consolation to children of God irrespective of their current financial status. Jesus came to demonstrate the Father’s heartbeat for the poor by His life, and also by the ultimate sacrifice He paid on behalf of all humanity on the cross of Calvary. It is at Calvary that we learn that, despite the poverty of the human race, we are still very precious to God.

Prayer Point:
Father, please help me to know how precious I am in your sight and please don’t let your investment in my life be a waste, in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heavens 2014: Thursday May 29, Daily Devotion By Pastor E. A. Adeboye - THE WISDOM OF GOD

Topic: THE WISDOM OF GOD [Thursday May 29, 2014]

Memorise:
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! Romans 11:33

Bible in a Year: Exodus 12:43-14:31; Psalm 114

Read: 1 Corinthians 1:20-25

20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Message:

Whenever God decides to reveal deep things about Himself to anyone, the human response is always that of unspeakable awesome surprise. Paul caught some revelations of God and exclaimed in Romans 11:33a that:

“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!”

This is the cry of someone who has seen beyond the physical realm; obviously God had shown him a little glimpse of the depth of His knowledge and wisdom. The Psalmist in Psalm 139:6 also experienced this and submitted in absolute wonder saying:

“Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.”

It is therefore not surprising that the greatest minds among the scientists and philosophers of this world are incompetent to discern, assess, or comprehend the knowledge and wisdom of God.

“For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.”
1 Corinthians 1:21

Because the all-knowing God is also the Creator of the heavens and earth, He knows that the human thinking faculty is not designed to understand spiritual matters and therefore cannot comprehend the knowledge and wisdom of a God who is Spirit. In essence, human logic, reasoning, science, and philosophy are grossly inadequate to bring man to the saving knowledge of an immortal, invisible, omnipotent and omniscient God. But glory be to God, because it pleased Him that by the foolishness of the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ, anyone that believes would receive the power of salvation and intimacy with God.

Nevertheless, the Bible in Matthew 11:19 tells us that wisdom has children, and the wisdom of those children begins with the fear of the Lord (Psalm 111:10). They are also known to reject the wisdom of this world, according to 2 Corinthians 1:12. As children of wisdom, they accept Jesus Christ the Son of the living God as the Wisdom of God and as Lord and Saviour. I therefore invite you to join the children of wisdom today by dedicating your life to Jesus and accepting Him as your Lord and Saviour. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Once you surrender your life to Him, He will begin to make all things work out for your good.

Prayer Point:
Father, please open my spiritual eyes to behold wondrous things according to the riches of your wisdom and knowledge, in Jesus’ Name.

Checkout the Bride Price app (Y'all Got To See This)

Brideprice.com.ng, is up to this!

Anyway, have you guys seen this app? Tried it? What do you think? It's a new app that helps women know how much they are worth so they can charge their future husbands accordingly. But it's all in good fun and not to be taken seriously. The app basically assigns virtual monetary value to women in an attempt to calculate their bride price based on factors such as their level of education, skin colour, nationality, weight, beauty, physical features, accents, country of residence, employment status etc'

I find the app hilarious but apparently not everyone does. A Cosmo writer yesterday described the app as sexist and someone even started a petition asking the app makers to take it down saying that it promotes objectification and misogyny towards women but the guys behind it Anakle.com say its just a joke and should not be perceived as a platform to objectify women.

Find their statement below:

The app itself is an aggregation of jokes and stereotypes regarding Brice price in Nigeria. These stereotypes are all jokingly used in various Nigerian cultures and on social media every day.

What the app does is aggregate these collections of jokes in one place, and this is for the purpose of fun and fun only. Admittedly, the satirical content caricatures the popular Bride Price concept popular in Nigeria, and most African countries. It should not be perceived as a platform to objectify woman of any tribe, race or color.

We have taken care that no derogatory, sexually explicit content or offensive language is used on the app. It is also not an attempt to put a price on the true value of a woman.Below are some screenshots from the app:
