Oliseh Recalls Martins, Invites Iheanacho, Others For World Cup Qualifier Against Swaziland

After being absent for two years, Seattle Sounders striker, Obafemi Martins has been listed by Super Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh, for a recall to the national team for the World Cup qualifier against Swaziland in November. 

According to a reliable Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, secretariat source, Martins is among the 24-man list Sunday Oliseh submitted to the NFF. Others on the list include: Hull City’s Sone Aluko, Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho as well as Hope Akpan, Carl Ikeme, Mikel Obi and Victor Moses.

18 foreign-based players including Efe Ambrose, Odion Ighalo, Shehu Abdullahi, Elderson Echiejile, Leon Balogun, Sylvester Igbonu, Simon Moses, Rabiu Ibrahim and skipper Ahmed Musa, were said to have been among those invited by Coach Oliseh.

Eight home-based players including Sunshine Stars of Akure duo of Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Tunde Adeniyi, as well as Gbolahan Salami, ChimaAkas, and Austin Oboriakpo also made the list.

It will oba-goal last chance to redeem n revive his career....but I think we are rushing kelecgi,,he should b with d under20 or under 23 team for now....we all know how we hurriedly gave players like femi opabumi,Chrisantus,promise n co early invitation to d super eagles,,and it turns out to kill their career.....
