The Lagos State government yesterday in a meet with the leadership of the various transport unions in the State has said it was ready to enforce the law it first gave trailers where they will be restricted from moving in the State from 6am to 9pm daily.
While speaking at the meeting, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Oluseyi Whenu said that the restriction was to ensure strict enforcement of the Road Traffic Law, which, according to him, was often violated by the trailer drivers, which has caused numerous accidents. He also noted that any trailer driver who does not abide by the law will be made to pay a heavy fine.
