40 Year Old Man Beaten To Death In Ibadan Following Quarrel

A 40 year old man, Mumini Muritala, who lived at Omilabu Area of Odinjo, was reportedly beaten to death on Friday night, following a quarrel between him and his landlord’s son, Yusuf Adegbayi. 

Wife of the deceased, Mrs Shakirat Muritala, said that she had just sent her daughter, Barakat, out to buy her food, when the landlord’s sons, Yusuf and his brother, Habeeb Adegbayi, locked the main door to the house around 9.pm, an action which later caused an altercation between her and the landlord’s sons.

She said, Yusuf slapped her husband when he demanded to know why they lock the gate so early. Mrs. Muritala said, when her husband wanted to retaliate, the two boys pounced on him and beat him blue and black, before Yusuf came back and hit him with an occultic ring he said he would use on him. 

She narrated further that her husband turned around suddenly and fell on the ground adding that he was rushed to the hospital, but he later gave up. The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) when contacted, said the suspect is on the run while his father, the landlord, was in police custody.
