Party Immigrants: Bayelsa State PDP Chairman, Timi Alaibe, Other Bigwigs Defect To APC

PC NATIONAL CHAIRMAN, CHIEF JOHN ODIGIE OYEGUN (R) AND FORMER GOVERNOR OF BAYELSA, CHIEF TIMIPRE SILVA, DURING APC MEGA RALLY IN YENAGOA ON SATURDAY
In what appears as a surprise to many, the Bayelsa State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Col. Sam Inokoba (rtd), on Saturday joined former chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Timi Alaibe and other top shots of the party to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State.

Over 1000 members and supporters of the PDP publicly swore their allegiance to the APC at a ceremony held at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenegoa.

Alaibe who said the defectors had left the PDP for good, added that the defectors are changing for good as a state as rich as Bayelsa cannot tolerate poverty.

The APC national chairman, John Oyegun, who led members of the party’s national working committee, while commending the defectors for their courage said, the PDP is now headless as the Chairman of the party has left.
