Mikel Obi Set To Leave Chelsea

Super Eagles midfielder, John Mikel Obi, is being linked with a move late in the transfer window to Turkish side, Besiktas.

According to Daily Mail, Besiktas were initially looking to land Lucas Leiva from Liverpool, but that deal has fallen through after the Brazilian’s performance against Arsenal on Monday.

This has forced Besiktas to turn their attention to Mikel Obi, whose only appearance this season for Jose Mourinho, came in the 90th minute of the 3-2 win over West Brom last Sunday.

Mikel is one of the Blues’ longest-serving players behind captain John Terry, after joining in 2006 from Lyn Oslo.

He could find himself slide down the pecking order, if Chelsea succeed in their quest to get Paul Pogba from Juventus.
