Though the Borno State government is yet to make any official statement, according to reports, the deputy governor died in Yola while on official trip there. Sources close to the deputy governor said he died in his sleep at an official lodge in Yola.
Umar was reportedly discovered dead at about 8am this morning when his aides noticed unusual signs that he had not woken up early for prayers.
