Imo state police department operatives have arrested a woman named Chioma Anoruo, for allegedly selling more than 19 children to clients.

Chioma, who lived at Okporo in Orlu town, was said to have been in the business of child trafficking with her husband for a while before she was finally apprehended by the community’s local vigilante group.

Repoters said that the vigilante group arrested Chioma and handed her over to the police whereas her husband escaped. Five children were rescued, while a huge amount of money was recovered from Chioma.

Reports say that the community had been battling cases of missing children for a while, with three children missing in the space of three months.
