Suicide Bombers Accidentally Blow Themselves Up In Borno

The explosion left both bombers dead with two innocent people injured. As two suicide bombers during the early hours of Wednesday accidentally blew themselves up at Molai Leprosy/General Hospital, about 100 meters away from a locally established market.

Confusion, however, trailed the explosion as many residents including patients and hospital workers scampered for safety. The suicide bombers were suspected to be terrorists who sneaked into the city from Sambisa Forest, a stronghold of the Boko Haram sect.

Last week Saturday, three suicide bombers who were suspected to have been targeting a locally established market in Molai village in the outskirt of Maiduguri metropolis detonated their explosives at the main gate of the missionary Leprosy and general hospital in Molai, killing five people including themselves.

Today’s suicide bombers attack, which took place at about 11am came at a time and a day when the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo paid a one day visit to sympathize with victims of insurgency in the state.

Eyewitnesses and sources said, the first suicide bomber detonated his explosives at the same entrance of the hospital, injuring two passersby, while the other one who was riding on bicycle accidentally detonated his explosives at the back of the hospital before getting to the fence, killing only himself.
