There was pandemonium in Osogbo Tuesday morning when people suspected to be thugs disrupted a protest organized by a group of Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun to rally support for Justice Folahanmi Oloyede, a serving judge of the state high court who petitioned the state house of assembly to investigate governor Rauf Aregbesola for alleged mismanagement of the state resources.
Skirmishes between the protesters and the hoodlums took place shortly after the rally commenced. The march which began at Ayetoro junction, about 9am had earlier witnessed a hitch when some people pelted the protesters with sachet water but the situation was later brought under control.
The protesters, led by leaders of CSCEO were joined by members of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, in the march that was to terminate at the gate of the state House of Assembly.
Anti-riot policemen were brought in to put the situation under control.
