Ijaw Youth Council Lambasts Obasanjo Over Comments On Jonathan

The Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide, has lambasted former President Olusegun Obasanjo for saying that the perceived failure of the immediate past President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, in office would haunt the people of South-South zone for a long time. 

The umbrella body of Ijaw youths, described Obasanjo's statement as reckless, baseless and a deliberate effort by Obasanjo to dent former President Jonathan’s towering image in the international community.

IYC said, former President Jonathan's five-year tenure is much better than the eight years spent by Obasanjo as the President of Nigeria. The IYC stated that it is the South West region that would be haunted by the abysmal performance of former President Obasanjo in office. 

The group however said, the South-West was completely exonerated from any blame as they totally rejected Obasanjo in 1999 because they knew very well that nothing good could come out of him.
