Metropolitan Police received a bomb threat against the White House over the phone at 1:53 p.m., according to Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary.
The briefing room was evacuated as a precaution, and was the only part of the White House evacuated, according to White House Spokesman Josh Earnest. See photos of people being evacuated from the press room below;
