26 Year Old Lady Commits Suicide After Boyfriend Dumped Her

It was a pitiful sight to behold the family of Evelyn Mogekwu, a 26-year-old Micro-Biology undergraduate of the Delta State University, as they lamented her death after she committed suicide because her boyfriend of seven years, left her for another girl.

The incident which happened in Abraka community of Delta State, has thrown the town into confusion and pandemonium when Mogekwu decided to to end it all as her plans of getting married to the young man ended up in flames.

According to her friends, the lady was looking forward to her graduation and a life as a married woman when the boyfriend called her on phone, to break the news that he was no more interested in the relationship as he was now in love with another woman.

She could not bear the pains of being jilted and decided to drink some poisonous substance. Her room mate discovered her lifeless body in the night when she came back from night reading.

The DPO of Abraka Police Division, confirmed the incident and said the police had recovered the remains of the poison she drank while her room mate has been detained for interrogation.
