According to one of his relation, he withdrew the sum of N1.5million as part of the money for exchange with his customers that requested Naira notes in place of foreign currency.
Usman took an 'Okada' from Mararraba and headed to town, somewhere close to Abacha Barracks. It appeared as he was followed as some robbers attempted to rob him by way of running their car onto the motorcycle he climbed.
Together with the Okada rider, they crashed into a pit and sustained serious injury. As for the money, if not for soldiers around the vicinity, the robbers would have made away with the money.
Usman Hamza was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit of the National Hospital Abuja. He died 2 days ago. May he rest in perfect peace!
