Wow!! Swiss Bank Assisting Nigeria Recover $370m Abacha Loot - Ambassador

Choi!! this man Stole Much money oo! Swiss ambassador to Nigeria, Hans-Rudolf Hodel yesterday declared that Switzerland was working to assist Nigeria recover $370m stashed in Luxembourg by late military leader,Gen Sani Abacha.

He said so far , Switzerland is waiting for the Federal Government and the Abacha family to reach an agreement on issues regarding the return of the money.

According to Hodel , his country was ready to offer legal assistance to facilitate the quick recovery of the money from Luxembourg.The envoy spoke when he paid a visit to President-elect Gen Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja. Abacha ruled Nigeria Between and 1993 1998.

Switzerland has already returned $700m, following appeals from Nigeria.

The $370 was seized in 2006 in Luxembourg, following a request from Swiss authorities, the Geneva prosecutor’s office had said in a statement in March

Responding to a question on how Switzerland can help the incoming administration fight corruption, Hodel said his country was ready to work with Nigeria on many areas . The envoy disclosed that it was not possible for either government or anybody to stash slush funds in Switzerland again. According to him a new law in the country does not allow anybody whose source of income cannot be proved to lodge questionable money in banks in the country.

The ambassador emphasized that Switzerland would always be with Nigeria in the area of fighting corruption.

He praised the general election won by Gen Buhari saying the world was proud of Nigeria . Hodel stressed that the polls had become a reference point not only in Africa but the world generally.

  5. The 20 billion dollars dat was about to b stolen plenty pass dis one na. Let us just tank God say dey r ready to giv it to d coming government. Let us not forget the 15million dollars siezed in South Africa.
