See Where APC zoned Senate Presidency, Speaker And SGF

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has revealed its zoning arrangement for key federal legislative and executive positions.

A document ratified by the APC national leadership and national caucus members Thursday night, shows that the next House of Representatives Speaker will come from South-West. APC also zoned the office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation the South-east, ending speculations that Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, may occupy the seat.

The Senate presidency is zoned to North-central where the incumbent, David Mark, hails from (Benue State). However, the office of Deputy Senate President is zoned to North-east while Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives to the South-south.

This has put paid to the ambition of Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin (APC, Kano) who sought to become either the head or deputy of the lower chamber of the National Assembly.

Chief Whip of the Senate is zoned to North-west, same region as the president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, comes from, while the North-central gets the office of Chief Whip of the House of Representatives.

The position of Majority Leader of the Senate is zoned to South-west, while Majority Leader of the House of Representatives goes to North-East.

Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate is zoned to North-west, and Deputy Majority Leader of the House of Representatives goes to North-Central.The post of Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives is zoned to South-East.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees of APC is zoned to North-East, while South-east will produce the BoT Secretary.

The posts of national chairman and national secretary of APC remain in the South-South and North-East.

They are currently occupied by Chief John Odigie-Oyegun from Edo State and Alhaji Maimala Buni from Yobe State.

Although about seven senators have joined the race to clinch the senate presidency, the zoning arrangement has now confirmed that the race is now between Senators Bukola Saraki (Kwara) and George Akume (Benue).

Similarly, zoning of the Speaker of the House of Representatives to the South-West makes it a straight contest between APC caucus leader, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila (Lagos) and Hon. Sola Adeyeye
