Some saw nothing wrong with him performing the song in a church, while others felt he crossed the line as a secular act who mounted the sacred pulpit.
In an interview With TheNET, Korede Bello said he doesn't regret performing in church and if the opportunity presents itself again, he will gladly do it all over again.
He said:
‘If you are the pastor of a church and you invite me to perform the song, Yes i will perform the song again. It’s God’s song and whatever is happening now is predetermined, people are talking about God that’s all that matters, From the inception of Godwin, I knew that it wasn’t my song, I knew that anything that’s for God has the potential of growing bigger than you imagine. It’s not quite a gospel song, it’s an inspirational song, what I mean by it’s for God is the fact that it’s dedicated to God. I don’t see it as my song, I see it as people’s song and I see it as a song for God.’
That's his own wahala...na God go judge at d end....na only pentecostal church
ReplyDeleteMy brother u dey see wetin I dey tok,d world is gradually in d church, instead of d church being in d world preaching d gospel, korede, of course na Godwin, sacredness no dey again, let God b d judge
ReplyDeleteDat song is actually a gospel song if u look @it critically. Its just that we humans are so quick to judging that they don't take out d time toweigh issues b4 concluding. D only qualms I see is that he's a known secular musician wch might send d wrong signal to kids watching that its okay to be secular and gospel @ d same time. Hmmm! "Uwaifo don talk e own".
ReplyDeleteThat is not my bizness if am in church that. I we dance cos I like the song
ReplyDeleteHmm this song don dey bring serious controversy, but what I think is it all depends on the individual,if u see am as gospel no qualms, if u see am as secular to yawa too
ReplyDeleteI see nothing wrong with him performing the song in a church... If one listen very well to the words is actually inspiration/ gospel song.
ReplyDeleteIf he didn't perform Godwin, which one again. Dorobuchi? How many tracks d guy get?
ReplyDeleteWhat is secular and what is gospel? The wordings of a song tells u what is it. Any praise to God from any quarters is praise. God sees d heart of men and knows relishes in d praise of every worshipper, for we are all sons of God. Korede please praise on cos na GODWIN! I tire for human hypocrisy.
