Tambuwal scored 647, 609 votes to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate Senator Abdallah Wali who polled 269, 074 votes.
Declaring the results at the State Collation Centre at the Sultan Maccido Institute of Quran and General Studies in Sokoto yesterday, the State Returning Officer, Prof. Abubakar Abdullahi Bagudo, said Tambuwal defeated the PDP candidate in all the 23 local government areas of the state.
Bagudo therefore declared Tambuwal as the winner of the April 11 governorship election in the state.
"Hon Tambuwal of the APC having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner of the April 11 governorship election in Sokoto state,"Bagudo stated.
