In Kaduna: Governor Yero Concedes Defeat, Calls El-Rufai, APC Says

The Kaduna State Governor and gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ramalan Yero, has conceded defeat to his rival, Nasir El-Rufai of the All Progressives Congress, an official has said.

The spokesperson of Kaduna State APC Campaign Council, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed this in a statement.

According to Mr. Aruwan, Mr. Yero called Mr. El-Rufai at around 3:00 p.m. to congratulate the latter on his victory.

“He congratulated El-Rufai and wished him success,” Mr. Aruwan said. “He prayed for peace and development of Kaduna state and Nigeria at large. El-Rufai in his response thanked Yero and wished all the best and hope to see you him soon.”

Mr. El-Rufai led with over 500,000 votes in 16 of the 20 local government areas announced by the state INEC with the results of three local governments yet to be announced as at 4:05 p.m.
