Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi Of PDP Wins Enugu Guber Election

The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) was on Sunday declared the winner of the gubernatorial elections held in Enugu State in April 11, 2015.

According to results collated and announced by INEC from the 17 local government areas in the state, Hon. Ugwuanyi won in all the councils.

Candidate of the PDP, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi scored 482,277 to defeat the candidate of APC , Okey Ezea, who scored 43,837.

Meanwhile, the All Progressive Congress has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) to cancel the election, insisting that no credible election took place in the state.

Addressing reporters in Enugu, the Chairman of the APC in the state, Ben Nwoye expressed regrets that the Resident Electoral Commission, Professor Chukwuemeka Onukaogu ignored their petition to INEC to cancel the election.

Similarly, the All Progressives Congress (APC) standard bearer, Chief Okey Ezea has called for cancellation of the election, saying that what happened in Enugu was not an election but a charade.

Nwoye had appealed to INEC in a petition to it,s Resident Electoral Commission in Enugu to cancel the just concluded governorship and state assembly elections held in the state as a result of massive electoral malpractices.

In the petition personally signed by Nwoye and sent early in the morning to INEC, APC insisted that the election was marred by wide spread rigging, violence, kidnapping, ballot stuffing, ballot snatching and all other forms of fraud committed by agents, principal officers, supporters and government officials serving the interests of the PDP.
