Avoid Obasanjo If You Desires To Succeed As Nigeria’s Leader - Senator Owie Tells Buhari

Senator Rowland Owie, former Chief Whip of the Senate, has advised President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), to avoid former President Olusegun Obasanjo, if he desires to succeed as Nigeria’s leader.

Owie, who gave the advice in a statement, yesterday in Benin City, Edo State, said: “To Buhari, I thank God for you, but you must deliver on your promises and also build on what President Goodluck Jonathan did. Above all, you must run far from Obasanjo.

If he can’t control your government, he will fight you. “He has done it to all former Presidents of Nigeria and even against MKO Abiola who was not sworn in. Never discuss with Obasanjo unless you have at least two of your aides present. “Half way into the tenure of President Jonathan, Obasanjo started trouble making by naming presidential and vice-presidential candidates.

“First it was Governor Sule Lamido as president and Governor Rotimi Amaechi as his deputy. A respectable Lamido, a founding father of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP while Obasanjo was in prison, was being urged to fight PDP.

  2. Perfect advice! Dis is exactly what I've been meaning to say. Any Nigerian leader that must succeed must run away from OBJ like plague. Dat man is a walking natural disaster waiting to happen to any govt. Unheeding to his evil selfish advice. I hope Buhari listens and takes refuge in d words of d wise. Hmmm! "Uwaifo don talk e own".

  3. This is why I like jonathan, Buhari, Tinubu, OBJ, Babangida and Odas became friends under Jonathan. What I know is, Buhari will still take advice from OBJ, if not little. All I crave for is a better Nigeria.

  6. I still insist he flees Obj's presence like he was plague. That man doesn't mean well 4 dis nation. All he's after is that his political mathematics works all d time. GMB will learn much more from GEJ than he would from OBJ. Let OBJ into ur own circle to ur own peril. Na u con kno. Hmmm! "Uwaifo don talk e own".
