According to Punch, the 50-year-old deceased, Joshua Fagbola, who is a father of seven children, is a patrol assistant with the Directorate of Road Traffic Service, otherwise known as the Vehicle Inspection Officer, in Ado Ekiti.
The Ekiti Police Public Relations Officer, Alberto Adeyemi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, who made this known newsmen on Sunday said, Fagbola met his untimely death at the burial ceremony of a relative on Friday at about 8.00pm in the Iro quarters of Iyin in the metropolis.
He said the deceased seized the mobile phone of the suspect on Thursday after he failed to supply the brick block he had paid for.
Adeyemi said police investigation revealed that Ede attacked Fagbola when he was about to start the engine of his motorcycle and leave the venue of the wake keeping.
The force spokesman said a witness disclosed to them that, the suspect on sighting Fagbola at the wake keeping, hurried home to get a machete which he used in inflicting severe cuts on the deceased’s neck and other parts of his body.
