Speaking with newsmen in Calabar, Eta said it would have been easier for Buhari to Islamize Nigeria when he was military Head of State, stressing that he would not do so if elected in next month’s general elections.
“Buhari had been a military Head of State in Nigeria and had the power to make a decree and it will become a law in Nigeria. At that time, he did not make any attempt to Islamise Nigeria neither did he Islamise Nigeria. Is it now that you need the National Assembly to put a stamp of approval on what you do that he will come and Islamize Nigeria?,” he said.
He cautioned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to raise better national issues for discourse rather than embarking on unhealthy campaigns against the APC.
