Former president, Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday took another swipe at the Jonathan government, declaring that the country does not deserve to be in its present state. He called on Nigerians to allow sound judgment to prevail as they vote during next month’s general election.
Lamenting that the nation bleeds under the yoke of “crippling poverty, sheer impunity, economic downturn and insecurity,” Obasanjo charged leaders who are elected to make things better for the people but do otherwise to know that they would “give account to God.”
The former president made this known on Monday morning when the Southwest women leaders including the Iyaloja – General of Nigeria, Chief Folashade Tinubu – Ojo, visited him at his Presidential Hilltop Estate, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
His words, “Nigeria does not deserve the situation it found itself. Our nation bleeds in poverty, economic downturn, sheer impunity and insecurity.”
Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief Alaba Lawson led the visiting women leaders, among who was the National President (Women Wing), Christian Association of Nigeria, to Obasanjo’s Abeokuta Hilltop mansion.

DeleteHmm,,hear OBJ,,notorious criminal or pen robber....he could not handle d security threat in d south by MEND,or solve employment n trade issues while in power n hear him finding fault all because GEJ has refuse to dance to his tune....just go n sleep because one day u OBJ will pay dearly for all ur atrocities
ReplyDeleteIf OBJ was better in his time and he did some changes we would have still b seeing it. For him to find a better thing to do, he is now changing into a critique ( criticizing GEJ)
ReplyDeleteOBJ....ur boy Goodluck ditched u after eating the forbiden fruit,he eyes are open now, even though he is f*ing up..notwithstading OBJ has a point..GEJ has been riliy poorly manage, the bad are much more than the good he has done...
ReplyDeleteD question nobody has never rili asked dis senile man is who put Nigeria in d hands of dis same man he claims 2 be corrupt. I remember how musch me and my friends yearned for people like Donald Duke 2 run 4 president bcos of d good things he did in Cross river. Buh Obj in his stupidity tot it wise 2 giv us a sick president and a dodo vice president. Haven schemed it dat d sick president will die and power will then be given to the dodo vice president, in d name of shifting power 2 d south as tho Duke wasn't from d south. D man should just go and R.I.P bcos he put Nigeria in dis quagmire we find ourselves 2day
ReplyDeleteStory for d gods...tell me what did final duke do for cross river state biko....I was born n brought up in C.R.S,,that he design calibar n d cattle ranch....no jobs in that state,,,poorly develop,,no basic infrastructure ,,etc...

ReplyDeleteOf course, Nigeria doesn't deserve to be in this present situation we find ourselves. But the actions and inactions of our leaders, both present and pass, due to greed and sentiments have brought us. Here, including Obasanjo himself.
ReplyDeleteBut as he advised, I just hope and pray that Nigerians will allow sound judgement to prevail on them when voting for a leader to lead us.
