The 2014 event is the last countdown Fashola will be attending as Governor of Lagos.
Fashola commended all efforts put together by the sponsors of the countdown most especially Star lager beer. He further advised Lagosians who gathered to celebrate the New Year in a fun atmosphere.
“Our future greatness lies in our ability to move beyond rhetoric and practically rebrand our country and change the ugly picture that has unfortunately been presented to the world through the acts of very few of our countrymen who are in the minority".Also speaking at the event, Corporate Affairs Adviser, Nigerian Breweries, Kufre Ekanem, appreciated the Governor of Lagos as well as the opportunity given to Star to be a part of Lagos countdown.
