Can The Nigeria Youth Ever Speak In One Voice Ahead Of 2015 Election? By Adesina Oluwaseun

Nigerian Youths should be willing to effect changes in our dear country in all ramifications. With this writeup I hope the youths of our land will rise up! Happy reading!

I am not a Card carrying member of any political party in Nigeria, neither do I owe allegiance to any politician, I am a young Nigerian championing the course of the youths for a brighter Nigeria.

The youths are the leaders of tomorrow, a tomorrow that can only be imagined by the Elders of today but may not be part off . The Nigerian youths need to stand up from their slumber and speak in one voice irrespective of their languages, tribes, religions, profession or their political affiliation in order to build a great nation.

The Nigeria youths should not be deceived by any political leader; saying that the current state of insecurity in the country is being caused by one political party or the other just to gain political hype and popularity for their political platform. These and many more lies are what the selfish political leaders are using to cajole and deceive the youths in order to get political support from them ahead of the 2015 election. The only people that can rescue Nigeria from this insurgency are virile , purposeful and determined youths who can deny themselves of today's pleasure and sow a seed for a brighter Nigeria for their unborn generations .

Terrorism, kidnapping are not part of our way of life in Nigeria, we the youths should speak in one formidable voice and demand change! If we are determined to, we can flush terrorism out of Nigeria just the way we collaborated with the different tiers of government in fighting Ebola out of Nigeria. If Lagos State can reduce armed robbery in Lagos and also the eastern part of the country can collectively rid their area of kidnapping, so can insurgency be eliminated from the North. Security is everybody's business and since boko haram members are humans and not spirits who live within the midst of the people, they shouldn't be difficult to defeat, if only people were not sympathetic to their cause.
Fellow youths as the 2015 election approaches, don't let us be moved by the political jamboree or propaganda, but seek out those with clear cut manifestoes. We should vote in people who can do the job so we do not continue to wallow in the darkness the nation is in. all the people that make up the tiers of government have a role to play in the generation of employment for the youths, if only they decide to play their roles. We shouldn't sit by and watch our futures been jettisoned on the altar of greed by clueless leaders, we should also not sell out our future for a stipend from politicians, when these stipends can barely last out the day. Ask, ask and ask those aspiring for elective positions about their plans and what they have done (with visible proof) to deserve our votes!

God bless the Nigerian Youth.

  2. I wish things can turn out the way the writer thinks, but am afraid, it might not. Sentiment is our major problem and difficult to resolve.
