What Prophet T.B Joshua Did Not See By Michael Irene (A Must Read)

The prophet of Synagogue, Church of Nations, TB Joshua, did not see the collapse of his building coming. After so many experienced years of predicting the future mixed with his uncanny habit of knowing who will die and who will not in the Nigerian scheme of things, one would expect him to know about the impending doom that loomed over his house. The prophet did not see the falling bricks in his own house; certain devils blocked his vision.

No doubt our man is a prophet! Once upon a time in Ijesha, Surulere, I had a neighbour who prayed in the name of “TB Joshua!” Sometimes, she went as far as saying “Our God TB Joshua never fail.” People go to him to know their future then like a tarot reader, he’ll paint a picture of your future.

But, this time, his powers failed him when he added three extra stories to the existing two of a guesthouse of the church compound with hope that he could expand his holy business. He didn’t anticipate the deadly cost. Over fifty lives were lost due to our prophet’s blindness.

Our prophet, to state it mildly, is a dick-head. It is strange to notice that a man of his high standing would start concocting all manner of lies to defend the collapse of his building. Reports state “the likeliest cause of the building’s collapse was the construction of additional storeys without reinforcing the foundations.” Any fool knows that the number one reason buildings collapse, especially in Nigeria, is and usually tied to weak foundation(s).

The bigger dick-heads are members of his church, who, on the Facebook page, have been showing solidarity to their prophet’s lies and deception with unbelievable comments. Some ridiculous comments read like this: “For one to get to the kingdom of god one has to die first” or “Our papa in God would not be destroyed by evil”. In Dame Patience words: Chai! Chai! Chai! Why can’t some Nigerians use their heads? A building just collapsed which led to the loss of lives and they come up with foolish defenses why it is “the handwork of the devil”.

The prophet knows he has gullible followers and exploits their gullibility. Some of the South Africans who escaped death after the collapse have come out boldly to state that they would never leave the church. Others have also imagined that there is a good thing coming into their life after the collapse. The collapse brought the high and mighty too.

The Lagos State governor, represented by his deputy, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire and the President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan have paid visit to the site of the collapsed building. They’ve not come to ask prophet why he added more floors without changing the foundation. They’ve come to show their support. Was the President quick to respond to the kidnap of the Chibok girls?
Agreed, the prophet can see into the future. He anticipated that journalists would flock his place hungry for news. What did he do? He prepared some spare change to silence them. Also, he doesn’t want to release the information about the building to the authorities. Our prophet is truly a man of God, why should we ask him questions?

This is the thing, however, hell is going to be filled with a lot of false prophets and their illogical followers. It is high time Nigerians put reason before religion: put God before pastors and live life God-like. For, what would Jesus do in this kind of situation?
