Star Trek Actor Leonard Nimoy Dies Aged 83 Years Old

Leonard Nimoy, who played Mr. Spock on “Star Trek,” has died aged 83. The actor died Friday morning at his home in Bel Air, California after battling chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Nimoy started playing Mr. Spock when the TV show debuted in 1966 and continued in the Spock role through most of the movies including the most recent reboot in 2013. He has also written poetries, 2 autobiographies and also recorded albums.

His last tweet on Feb. 22, reads; "A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP"

Man Caught Trying To Rape Daughter Says - "I Wanted To Test her Virginity

 In Ajeromi, Ifelodun local government area of Lagos State, a man arrested for allegedly attempting to rape his daughter, has told the police that he wanted to test her virginity.

The suspect, identified simply as Alex, was said to have attempted to rape his 15-year- old daughter, Agnes (not real name), in his apartment at Abiodun street, Ajegunle.

Tragedy struck on Thursday afternoon after three ladies aged between 25 and 30 years died as after the hummer bus in which they were traveling was knocked off the Lagos-Benin highway by an operational vehicle driven by operatives of the Nigerian Customs Service.

The commuter bus with registeration number EDO AKA 35 LG carrying second hand clothes also known as okirika, summersaulted during a hot chase by Customs officials from the Federal Operations Unit, Zone A, Ikeja from one of their checkpoints in Ijebu Ode.

The driver of the bus allegedly refused to stop when flagged down at their checkpoint which resulted in the tragic chase.more photos below;

Lagos State University Refunds N209million Worth Of School Fees To Students

Following the reversal of school fees by Lagos State University, LASU, the Lagos state government has refunded N209m to students of the Lagos state University

The Ceremony which held at the Main auditorium of the Ojo campus of the school yesterday February 26th, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Fatai Olukoga who represented Gov. Fashola, said this was the first phase in the refund exercise. He said the second phase of refund which is about N89 million will take place soon.

Nigerian Military Takes Delivery Of Two Jets Filled With Ammunition

The first and second jets, arrived around 4pm and 6pm respectively (The Nigerian military took delivery of two Boeing 747 jets fully loaded with ammunition that arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Wednesday evening),  had various forms of sophisticated weapons meant for military operations in the North-East, according to reliable sources at the airport.

Our correspondent sighted the jets on the tarmac at the airport on Thursday but was denied access to even get close to them by officials guarding those who were offloading the cargoes.

PDP And Jonathan Plotting To Remove Jega – APC Senators Raises Alarm

Members of the All Progressives Congress in the Senate on Thursday alleged that there was a fresh plot by the Federal Government to prevent the Independent National Electoral Commission Chairman, Attahiru Jega, from superintending over the forthcoming general elections.

The APC senators, led by George Akume, told a news conference in Abuja that they heard from a reliable source that the Head of Service would direct Jega to proceed on his pre-retirement leave next week.

“We have received information from a very credible source that next week, the Chairman of INEC will be given a letter from the office of the Head of the Civil Service to proceed on a terminal leave,” they said.
