Shocking video showing a man carrying his wife's severed head through busy city streets after it was alleged he had decapitated her after her extra-marital affair had gone viral.

The man was caught on camera by horrified onlookers as he appeared to carry his wife's bloody remains through the bustling city of Pune, near Mumbai, India.

Several passers-by stare at the man as he walks casually along the pavement, although others appear not to notice what he is carrying in his hand. Local reports claim the man is 60-year-old Ram Chavan, who is accused of murdering his wife after suspecting her of having an affair.

It is claimed Chavan decapitated his 55-year-old wife's head using an axe, before picking up her remains and venturing outside. The police have arrested Chavan, according to Zee News, and the investigation is ongoing.
