Ebonyi State Man Nicknamed After 'Monkey' Falls From Palm Tree, Breaks Spinal Cord

Mr. Egede Nwofe, a middle-aged man, popularly known as ‘monkey’ at Mkpuma Agbaja in Izzi local government of Ebonyi State, last weekend while trying to harvest palm fruits, fell from a palm tree, breaking his spinal cord in the process. 

As the source described that Nwofe, fell from one of the palm trees while attempting to climb the fourth one in a palm tree plantation in the area.

Nwofe revealed that he charges N500 for tall palm trees while short one goes for N300. The money realized from this business, according to him is used in feeding his family. 

Nwamimi Okwuta, a member of the community who hired the victim, said Nwofe had been harvesting palm fruits for him for over five years and that such an incident had never happened before.
