Pictured above is a trader, Elizabeth Okolie, 33, has been arrested by Asaba Police detectives in Asaba, Delta State, in Okpanam for selling her baby for N1.5m after the alleged father refused to accept the paternity. She was arrested on her way to Benin City after selling the baby girl.
The police detectives are now after the buyer. Elizabeth, a secondary schools dropout, had absconded with the man and soon became pregnant. But after delivery, the man denied the paternity of the child. This led to quarrels which prompted her to sell the 3 months old girl.
