Kitoro, the third highest ranking traditional ruler in the state, was a politician in the Second Republic and the short-lived Third Republic. He won eletion into the Senate in 1992, on the platform of the National Republican Convention (NRC), now defunct.
Kitoro ascended the Borgu Kingdom throne on February 3, 2000, after the death of his predecessor, Alhaji Musa Mohammadu. The deceased monarch was yesterday described by the Niger State Government, as a man who is humble, respectful, devoted, of exemplary character; and one dedicated to the development of Borgu Kingdom, Niger State and Nigeria in general.
