Team Nigeria Finishes Second Place At The 11th All African Games

Team Nigeria finished second at the 11th All African Games which came to a close on Saturday night in Congo Brazzaville. About 8,000 athletes took part in 22 sports. 

South Africa which was second towards the close of games on Friday night was sent to the third position by Nigeria.

On the medals table, Egypt emerged overall best with a total of 217 medals, the breakdown of which is 85 gold, 64 silver and 68 bronze medals. 

As at Friday night, Nigeria had garnered a total of 144 medals and a couple of medals were still won on Saturday prior to the closing ceremony. South Africa came third with a total of 122 medals–41 gold, 41 silver and 40 bronze medals. 

The closing ceremony, held at Sports Complex at Kintele, Brazzaville, was fantastic even though almost marred by heavy rain.
