President Buhari Reportedly Converts Children's Section Of Aso Villa Chapel To A Store

According to Vanguard, President Buhari have relocate the Aso Rock Villa Chapel due to the closeness of the chapel to his bedroom, kitchen.

The chapel which was built and inaugurated by President Olusegun Obasanjo, with the intention of worshiping from the comfort of his bedroom.

 The president plans on relocating not only the chapel but the mosque as well to a more spacious area of the villa. Competent sources said the late President Umaru Yar’Aduawho succeeded the office from Obasanjo promised not to relocate the chapel despite the proximity to the presidential residence.

Efforts were made to stop choristers from using the chapel on August 29, 2015, which made the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to intervene.

“Osinbajo was uncomfortable with the plan and he had to reach out to the President before service could be held that day in the chapel,” the source said.Despite Osinbajo’s intervention the children section of the chapel has been shutdown, and they are currently forced to use the chaplain’s office for service.

“As we speak, the children’s church remains shut and everything relating to the church has been removed. We had to beg them to allow us to remove our property,” he source told Vanguard.

The children’s church has been turned into a store,” he further said.As a result of the unforeseen development, we had to collapse some facilities to accommodate the children and keep our worship going,” The chaplain said during sunday service.

Pastor Joseph Sheyi Malomo, Acting chaplain of the Aso Villa Chapel mentioned that the church was not shut down but did not confirm the reports of his office being used for children’s service.
