The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, has asked the judge in a fresh suit filed by Senator Buruji Kashamu to withdrawal himself from the suit.
Kashamu had gone back to the courts to seek an order restraining the NDLEA and the Attorney General of the Federation from seizing his property.
In the new suit, Kashamu said he had got winds of the moves by the NDLEA and the AGF to seize or take over his properties, including a 24-flat housing estate at Egbe and several hectares of land on Lekki Peninsular, Lagos, worth over N20bn.
He claimed he acquired the properties through hard work and legitimate businesses and not from the proceedings of drugs as the NDLEA claims. He now wants the court to stop them from seizing them.
