Oliseh confirmed on Sunday via Twitter that Ibe’s family informed him about their son’s decision. He however went on to wish the 19-year-old all the best.
“Jordon Ibe’s family informed me by a telephone call, that he was giving priority to an England call-up,” Oliseh wrote. “We wish them well.”In August, Oliseh made a personal approach to try and persuade the winger to switch his international allegiance from England. Ibe was in action for Liverpool in their 3-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.
