The Fear Of Buhari Is The Beginning Of Job Commitment? N2.5 Billion Adada Dam Contractor Rushes Back To Site

Site of Adada dam, still under construction 4 years after date set for completion
In what could be seen as a move to escape the ongoing probe of activities of the previous administration by President Muhamadu Buhari, the contractor handling the Adada Dam project in Nkpologwu, Uzouwani Local Government Area, Enugu State.

The project was said to have been abandoned after receipt of money allocated for the project, Rudo Nigeria Limited, has returned to site. The project upon completion, is expected to provide all-year-round irrigation for farmers in the area and serve as source of water supply to Nsukka urban.

The contract was awarded to the company by the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, at the sum of N2.5 billion and paid N289 million mobilization fee to the contractor.

Work commenced on the project which has a completion date of March 2015, in June 2011, the project was abandoned shortly afterwards, amid speculations that the water level at Adada River was not enough to carry a dam of such magnitude.
