Borno Elders’ Forum on Tuesday called on former president Goodluck Jonathan to tender an unreserved apology to the people of the state for his failure to handle the Boko Haram crisis.
This follows disclosure by the immediate past Chief of Defense Staff, Alex Badeh that the Nigerian troops were ill equipped for the fight against the insurgents.
In a statement by Amb.Usman Gaji Galtimari, the chairman of the forum, it wondered why Governor Kashim Shettima was “almost hanged to death” when he made the same assertion as Badeh. The forum therefore demanded that;
• The former government be charged for genocide against the people of Borno State if found wanting.
• The retired CDS should also be asked why he kept silent when the military under his command was not fully equipped.
•Relations of those killed both (civilian and the military) in the operations in the Northeast be duly compensated.
•An unreserved apology by the immediate past President and his service chiefs to the people of Borno and Governor Kashim Shettima.
Hmmm..okay..what does he have to say to this?

ReplyDeleteThese elders must be senile. The pipo of Borno gave Boko Haram d breeding ground to proliferate their neferious activities because initially they were only killing. Christians. When they later turned on d mosques then they realized they've raised an uncontollable monster. Na now una dey find who una wan blame. U will die waiting 4 Goodluck's apology.
