Presiding over the third service of his church in Ota, Ogun State on Sunday, Oyedepo noted that the increasing call and approval of equality between women and men have spilled into their marital lives.
He added that such women, against the biblical doctrine that advises women to be submissive to their husbands, now equate themselves with their husbands.
He told the congregation that women must be submissive to their husbands and that if it is followed with prayers, even if such men are wayward, God would return them to the family.

He also admonished to avoid being blown away by the things of the world as they must learn to love their wives as the Bible had warned.
Papa God bless u 4 dat observation. Its very true! All women that I know that. Go about preaching women liberation are all out of their husbands homes because they want to feel equal to d man in everything and no man wants that. Its just natural 4 a man to be untop and d woman assisting. But a case were d woman wants to be equal. Hmm gobe go dey o. Have you heard the New Nigerian Anthem? Anticipate #PromiseLand.
ReplyDeleteMy brother that's african mentality,,bcos she is my wife does not make her my slave which means I must respect her boundaries also.....ANIMAL FARM""""all animals are equal"""""
DeleteNa wa for this man of GOD....why hit on d women alone,,,what if d man is d one who file in for divorce ,,
ReplyDeleteAlso what is d role of churches towards solving marital issues...
Olovo u got it totally wrong! Go and look @ d bible very well. The man is d head and d woman must submit herself to him. Go and look @ d Abraham's and the Isaacs of old, their wives called them Lords. Do u think they just did that bcause they wanted to do it? No! They did it bcos that is God's ordinance. Men and women are not equal doesn't also mean u should treat ur wife like a slave, buh. That is d fact! Have you heard the New Nigerian Anthem? Anticipate #PromiseLand.
ReplyDeleteYrs but those men u mention also respects their wives views n boundaries....also we are in a new world n we need to face the reality...
DeleteI so much hate divorce but if a reason comes that I have consider it...I won't look back
ReplyDeleteGive me one of those reasons biko...
DeleteSee ur nose, lol...u shld know d reasons na
DeleteI have to State here unequivocally too, that God in his infinite wisdom also knows that there can't be two captains in one ship so he made man d head and the woman to be his help mete. Every Godly woman knows this fact and that's d secret to the success of their marriage. Any woman that wants to compete authority with her husband definitely is asking 4 a divorce. ReplyDeleteSo that makes ur wive ur slave bcos ur d man...hmmmm...even wen u as a husband ur soo wrong in certain decision n attitude ur wife should just sit n watch bcos ur d man abi...ok ooo
DeleteOlovo there u go again missing the point. Ur wife can advice u and stuff buh u have d final say. That's what Bishop Oyedepo is trying to say here. The problem with most marriages is that bcos women now work and support d home, some of them want an Equal say with their husbands and its not so. I've never supported women been seen as slaves buh that they are equal with men is not true. Here is it. A man is made to fend 4 his family and a woman a home keeper (1st assignment), and can also work to support d husband. D problem we have now is that some men don't also want to work and expect loyalty from a woman. If u're not a provider it will take an angel to submit to u. Likewise it is 4 a woman who doesn't submit, it will also take an angel to live with such a woman. D switch in roles b/w men and women is greatest undoing of most marriages. As a man endeavour to work hard and pray 4 God's favour so u can earn d birth right to be a man. As a woman u must learn to be submissive to ur husband and help him in achieving his goals and aspirations as much as u also pursue urs wch should be in tandem with that of ur husband. I repeat "there cannot be two captains on one ship". Buh God also stated it in d bible that men must love and respect their wives. So d "Word" is complete my broda.
