Lebanese fugitive, Ahmed Al-Assir was detained on Saturday at Beirut's Rafik Hariri International Airport as he was trying to flee the country to Nigeria in a disguise and using a forged passport.
Ahmed Sunil and his associates had in June 2013, stormed a mosque complex belonging to Assir in the southern city of Sidon killing about 12 Lebanese soldiers. In 2014, a military judge recommended prosecutors seek death sentences for Assir and 53 others, including former singer Fadel Shaker. He has been on the run since until when he was apprehended.
