A bomb blast rocked a crowded market in Damaturu this morning, killing at least 11 people and injuring dozens. According to eyewitnesses, the explosion occurred at around 9.30 a.m. Security personnel were seen evacuating corpses and the injured when this report was filed.
Security operatives at the scene of the explosion included soldiers, policemen, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps and Nigeria Fire Service.
This comes six days after a suicide bomber killed three policemen at a checkpoint on the outskirts of the city, which is the capital of Yobe State.
