Must journalists seek permission from the police before they cover protest or what?
Police in the Federal Capital Territory, early Monday morning (June 1st) humiliated a veteran Journalist, in Radio Nigeria, Muhammad Atta-Kafin-Dangi.
"I was just trying to get actualities @ Kuje junction in Gwagwalada, where Okada riders are protesting, I was kicked, beaten, pushed, squeezed along with the suspects they arrested and jam packed in an hilux van"
The journalist who is the Head of News in Kapital FM Abuja, one of the star stations in Radio Nigeria concluded that throughout is career in Radio Nigeria for about three decades, he had never been this humiliated. Share this until it get to the IG for proper action against the ignorant DPO.Kafin-Dangi who has been practicing journalism for 29 years in Nigeria further said that, "in fact the DPO Gwagwalada, jerked me and said I was covering the protest without permission. I even showed him my ID card hung on my chest and despite the identification, he continued to supervise my humiliation by his men".
