A clash between Soldier and Ex-militants arouses fear earlier today. the soldiers attached to the Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Pulo Shield, along the Mbiama axis of the East-West Road.
The Nation reports that the ex-militants protested at about 7am to express dissatisfaction over non-payment of their allowances by Kingsley Kuku, President, Presidential Amnesty Office and Special Adviser on Niger Delta.
The ex-militants led by Ebi John, the Bayelsa State Third Phase Amnesty Chairman,were said to have obstructed flow of traffic.
This action attracted the soldiers who were drafted to the scene in a military patrol vans and two Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs).
The soldiers reportedly shot in the air to disperse the protesters but they refused to bulge.
As the hot argument persisted, members of the Bayelsa State Working Committee of the All Progressive Congress (APC) led by Tiwe Oruminighe, the state chairman of the party reportedly waded in.
Oruminighe, however appealed to them to vacate the scene and avoid violence and bloodshed.
He advised them to give President Muhammadu Buhari led administration time to address the problems.
