President Goodluck Jonathan handed over a brown envelope to the president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari after today's Council of State meeting.
Jonathan gave the envelope to Buhari after a group photograph of the attendees who included all former leaders.
The meeting, which started at 11.30am, ended at 1.30pm. Today's Council of State meeting was the last presided over by Jonathan as Nigeria's president.
Having lost his re-election bid, Jonathan will be attending subsequent meetings of the Council of State as a former president. Details later.
