On March 10th, an SABC TV crew was robbed at gun point while filming outside Johannesburg’s Millpark hospital, where the president of Zambia, Edgar Lungu is receiving treatment after collapsing at a Women’s Day event.
The SABC crew made up of Contributing editor, Vuyo Mvoko and several other crew members were accosted and approached by four armed men who cocked their guns and shouted “shoot them” and demanded their mobile phones, laptops and broadcast equipment, all the while the camera was rolling and the “on-air robbery” was being broadcast live across South Africa.
