Akwa Ibom Former Deputy Speaker Slumps And Dies During Campaign

Hon. Okon Uwah, a former Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 slumped and died during a campaign at Nkek, in Ukanafun local government area of the state.

The Honorable, who is running  for the Ukanafun State Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, slumped at the residence of his in-law, one Godwin Udoko while holding a political consultation.

A source present while the incident unfolded disclosed that the deceased tried to escape the venue during a hassle for the consultation money he dropped.

The considerable fight led to a budding stampede and in his bid to escape, the aspirant reportedly slumped while the surging crowd trampled on him.

In the meantime, the details of his shocking death is still shoddy and there is yet to be an official statement in that regard.

  1. Kai see what stolen money has done to him now! In a bid to escape from those he had given money to he gets killed. I think we've lost way too many candidates in dis election thn ny other we've ever had. Hmmm! "Uwaifo don talk e own o".
