World Heavyweight Champion Klitschko Rejected $100m Offer To Fight Brother, Vitali

Wladimir Klitschko the politician turned former World Heavyweight Champion revealed in a television interview that not even $1bn would have made him fight his older brother, Vitali.

According to Wladimir who is younger to Vitali, now the mayor of Kiev; said famous boxing promoter, Don King offered him $100m to fight his brother but he refused, saying that the blood relationship between them was stronger than the influence of money.

And since they had promised their mother that they would never exchange blows, there wasn’t any way they were going to fight.

'You guys sign with me, I’m going to make this fight. I’m going to make you rich!” Klitschko recalls King telling him.

' billion wouldn’t help. Money is not everything in life. I understand that people are excited and driven by money, but no. Between two brothers … I love my brother too much.

'We were asked many times if we are going to fight each other or not, but we made a promise to our mother that we will never fight each other.

'She asked us — you can box, you can both be involved in boxing — which I don’t like, but you have to promise me one thing: no matter what you won’t fight each other.'

Vitali, 43 retired in 2013 to focus more on politics and Wladimir, 38 is still active, he is the second longest reigning boxing champion in history.
