The Lagos State Police command has arrested Mrs. Ugochukwu Ebere for allegedly brutally assaulting her 15-year old guardian.
According to the Punch, the girl (identified as Amadi) was flogged ruthlessly on January 11, and the guardian added pepper on her scars.
The girl was afraid to report the abuse to the police for fear of further flogging by the woman.
Ugochukwu on the other hand said she beat up her ward because she caught her stealing and masturbating, and that Amadi had already begun teaching her own daughters how to masturbate.
Amadi owned up to the accusations, but stated that she was beaten for sending Ugochukwu's daughter on an errand.
The police and Femi-Falana, Human Rights Activist, have been involved in the case.
